Introduction

The slayer skill is one of the hardest skills to level, if not the hardest. Every one of us dreams of 85 slayer. This guide will tell you how to level it efficiently, with many methods, to try to cover everyone's goal and style to reach their goal.

Method 1

Introduction

This method is rarely used now, because it is extremely expensive, but also the fastest method. It was so popular when whips were around the 10m range because it was worth it. I myself followed this method 4 months ago, but how efficient it is today is up to you.

Equipment

1. Full Guthan(bones to peaches will be helpful too)
2. A cannon and good amount of cannon balls, depending on what level you started at.
3. Some prayer potions, you can do without them, but with them it’s a little bit faster. If you are a pure, or low combat (less than 105), you will definitely need a lot of them.
4. Super set potions (You can use the dragon battleaxe special attack and restore potion and super attack potion, which is the same affect but a lot cheaper). They are not a must, but they help a lot.

Overview of the Method

This method is the fastest method to train slayer, you cannon everything you can, and with guthan you don’t need to bank. If you followed that method you will be 85 slayer in no time, but just make sure you can cover the expenses, which will be a lot.

Slayer Masters
Shilo Master: Only use it if you are above 110 combat or you have a lot of prayer potions.

Edgeville Master: If you lower than 110 combat use him, he is perfect for you.

Zanaris Master: Not recommended for this method, although if you trust your luck with good assignments, go to her.

Changing tasks: If you receive a task that you do not want to take. You can easily change your task by speaking to the slayer master in Burthrope. He will ask you if you would like to change your task. Say yes. Complete the task then return to your normal slayer master and get a new task once again.

Method 2

Introduction

This method is used the most, it is not the fastest, and it will cost you money, but you can easily make your money back from drops if you are lucky enough. A lot of people now go with this method nowadays.

Equipment
1- A lot of food (or guthan, or bones to peaches)
2- Cannon and some cannon balls, not a lot.

Overview of the Method

This method is the “average Joe” way of training slayer, you will only use cannon on dagannoths and maybe kalphites, and that’s it. The rest of the assignments you will do it manually in hand to hand combat, you might take some time to reach your goal with this method, and it might cost you some money, but it won’t cost you a lot and its not the slowest.

Slayer Masters
Shilo Master: If you are willing to burn a couple of millions gp on maging metal dragons, and you have guthan for the rest of his assignments, use him. I won’t recommend you to use it, because he needs a lot of money, and we are trying to save as much as possible.

Edgeville Master: Use it if you are under 90 combat, and don’t have guthan or bones to peaches. He is not the best, but also not bad for this method.

Zanaris master: She is the perfect master for you if you are above 90 combat and using that method. Her metal dragons assignments can sometimes be a pain in the behind, but her other assignments make up for the metal dragons.

Method 3

Introduction

This method is the slowest method you can use. In that method, you slay to make money, even if you are under 85 slayer. This method generally used for people who are above 85 slayer, who slay for money and experience, and speed for them is not a concern.

Equipment

1- A lot of food (or guthan, or bones to peaches)
2- Good armor and a weapon
3- Good amount of runes and arrows

Overview of the Method

As I said, this method is slow, the key here is maging and ranging(mainly ranging) as much as possible to last longer. Metal dragons are the assignments you want to get(or abyssal demons if you are above 85 slayer), both are extremely slow to kill, but we are after money here. You only going to mage metal dragons, because it’s the cheapest and most efficient, and try to range everything else, because its also the cheapest.

Slayer Masters

Shilo master:He is your man. If you are using that method, he gives a lot of metal dragons and abyssal demons, and we love both, you almost can range anything else he gives, so you will save the most amount of money here.

Edgeville master: Not recommended here, he almost never gives any metal dragons assignments, and his assignments are the least profitable.

Zanaris master: She is okay, not the best of course, you can use it, if you are lower combat.

Monsters

I will list the common assignments - not every single one of them - and under the monster I will write the best location you can go to kill him, and how good the monster is for each method.

Aberrant Spectres

Method 1: Change them, they are extremely slow.

Method 2: If you have extra prayer potions you can go try them, the herbs they drop can make them worth it.

Method 3: Go with them if you have prayer potions, you won’t make the best profit, but you will make some.

Best location: Slayer Tower

Banshees

Method 1: Change them, because most likely you will have them in 100+ amounts; if you have less than 100, just do them.

Method 2: Do them, not bad for drops, and you can kill them quite fast.

Method 3: They are bad, but they are better than whatever monster you are going to change to, so do them.

Best location: Slayer Tower

Basilisk

Method 1: Do them, with super sets; you will kill them in no time.

Method 2: Do them, good drops and good experience.

Method 3: Same as method 2.

Best location: Slayer Dungeon

Blue Dragons

Method 1: Go for babies, you can’t cannon the mothers and ranging or meleeing them is extremely slow.

Method 2: Range the mother dragons if you have decent range level, if not them just melee the babies.

Method 3: Very good assignment for you. Get your bow, and range them and bank the hides and bones, excellent profit.

Best locations: For methods 2 and 3, the best location is watchtower dungeon, where they can range the mothers perfectly. But for method 1 their best location is in taverly dungeon, south of the mother dragons, near the lava fishing spot.

Bloodvelds

Method 1: Do them, very good experience.

Method 2: Melee or range them, if you have a big number range them so you won’t bank.

Method 3: Do them; a lot of blood runes are dropped.

Best location: Slayer Tower

Metal Dragons

Method 1: Change them

Method 2: Change them unless you want to burn some chaos runes, not really worth it, its up to you though.

Method 3: Your perfect assignment, enough said.

Best location: Brimhaven Dungeon

Crocodiles

Method 1: If you are using Edgeville master, sometimes you will get frustrated with these. I usually changed them, although with cannon they are not so bad.

Method 2: Change them.

Method 3: Change them.

Dagannoths

Method 1: The perfect assignment.

Method 2: Very good experience, I wouldn’t change them.

Method 3: Even though their drops are not very good, I will stick with because of their very good experience.

Best location: Under the lighthouse.

Dust Devils

Method 1: Good drops + okay experience.

Method 2: Same as Method 1.

Method 3: Same as Method 1.

Best Locations: The smoke dungeon in the desert.

Elves

Method 1: The perfect solution for those is not to do regicide, that will speed you a lot, but if you already did it, then do them. You will get a lot of them so changing them isn’t efficient, and teleporting to lleteya wouldn’t make them so bad.

Method 2: Do them, medium experience and not bad drops.

Method 3: Same as method 2.

Fire giants

Method 1: Very good assignment, it might sound bad because it crowded, but with my “secret location” they are almost perfect assignment.

Method 2: Range them, very good experience.

Method 3: Excellent drops, perfect for you.

Best locations: For method 2 and 3, wildy dungeon is not bad, since you can 3 item or range them easily, and the spot is usually empty, but if you planning to cannon them, here is the perfect spot for you, its in brimhaven dungeon, after the lave jump agility obstacle, all the way to the south.

Hell Hounds

Method 1: A very good assignment if you did it right.

Method 2: If they are too tough for you change them, or pray against them, or simply range them.

Method 3: Range them, the clues can be very good money

Best locations: You can range them in almost any place in the dungeon, but to cannon them, you need to position yourself right, just put it between the gray and the brown area, in the line separating them.

Jellies

Method 1: Change them, if you really don’t care about the profit, they are slow experience, but the clues make up for it.

Method 2: Do them, range them if you can.

Method 3: Do them.

Best location: Slayer Dungeon

Kalphites

Method 1: Cannon the kalphites soldiers (lvl 85), near the cactus spawn, good experience.

Method 2: Range the kalphites guardians in the first level, they are not great experience, but not bad also you can also cannon the soldiers if you willing to burn some money on cannon balls.

Method 3: Change them.

Lesser Demons

Method 1: Cannon them in Taverly Dungeon.

Method 2: Either range them in Karamja or melee them in Taverly Dungeon.

Method 3: Range them in Karamja.

Best location: Karamja or Taverly Dungeon
