Introduction
Prayer is one of the most helpful skills. It can help you regain those precious health points or even keep that extra item when you die. To get a higher prayer level you must bury bones, which you can find from killing various monsters. You can use as many prayers as you want at once, however it will drain your prayer points faster. The higher the drain rate of a prayer, the faster your points go down. To recharge your prayer you have to find an altar and prayer. It is always a good idea to charge whenever you can, as the next altar could be a mile away. Prayer is a hard skill in train in, and is almost impossible to make money off it. Players just usually bury any bone they see.

Bones
Prayer is a 'supernatural' skill, but requires no runes to use, just previous experience. Prayer levels are gained by burying bones which depending on the type, give you a certain amount of experience.

Prayers
Increasing your prayer level rewards you with a number of different assets while fighting. Some can increase all of your combat skills by a certain percentage, while others can render you immune to a certain type of attack. Also, prayers can increase level restoration and let you hold onto another item if you die. The high level prayers target other opponents to drain prayer or restore health.

Prayer Stat Boosters
Prayer is a very diverse skill in terms of equipment. Consisting of mostly fancy robes and amulets, there are some armors and weapons that increase it also. The bonus prayer does not increase your level of prayer, but reduces the time in which it depletes when prayer is turned on.
Temple Knight Equipment
The Temple Knight Equipments are aquired by doing the following:
Finish Recruitment Drive to purchase Initiate
Finish Slug Menance to purchase Proselyte
Proselyte Armor gives the best Prayer + Defence in the game so it is best used while fighting Metal Dragons.

Training Guide
There are few places to gain prayer levels in RuneScape, but a few of the better ones are:
~ Chickens - One of the fastest ways to gain prayer levels is to kill chickens at either the Lumbridge farms or the farm north of Port Sarim. Another popular area is the chicken area in the Champion's Guild. Chickens should take only 1-2 hits to kill, giving you a lot of bones in a short amount of time.
~ Giants - Giants are a very good source of experience for the people with a fairly high prayer and can kill giants easily. They are located in the Edgeville Dungeon at the far back. An easier way to get there is to go west of Varrock (east of the river) and find a small building sitting there. You need to have a brass key (get from previous time in dungeon). This area is extremely crowded and you might end up fighting other players for a Giant.
~ Dragons - If you are a member, and have a high enough combat level, you can fight dragons and get dragon bones, which are worth 72 experience each. Green Dragons are the most popular of the dragons because they are have the lowest level of the species, they are located in different spots in the wilderness. Another popular dragon to kill is a Blue Dragon located in the Taverly Dougeon, basement of the Hero's Guild, and Ogres' Cave.
Using the Ectofunctus allows you to quadruple the amount of experience gained from bones. That means for example, normal bones give you 18 prayer experience and dragon bones gives you 240 prayer experince.
You must have completed the Ghosts Ahoy quest to access it.
It is just North of Port Phasmatys in Morytania.

You will need:
9 bones
9 pots
9 buckets
Your ectophial
Your Ghostspeak Amulet
What to do:
1. Teleport to the Ectofunctus using your Ectophial. Refill it by using it with the ectofunctus.
2. Go down the trapdoor and go down to the pool. Fill your buckets with with ectoplasm. (Those with 58 agility may use the shortcut at the entrance)
3. Use your ectonphial to teleport back up. Refill it.
4. Go upstairs and grind your bones in the grinder and collect the bonemeal in your pots.
5. Use and refill your ectophial. Now pray at the ectofunctus nine times untill all the bonemeal has been used.
6. Speak to the ghost disciple and he will give you some ectotokens.
7. Go back to the bank in Port Phasmatys, stock up again and repeat.
With the addition of Construction to the game, a new method of prayer training has arisn. In your house, you have the ability to make different types of alters which will multiply your bones exp if a bone were to be used on it. If you don't have the construction level to house a High-Leveled altar, you can easily use a friends. This table shows the different levels need and how much your prayer exp is multiplied. This method does not give more experience then the ectofuntus.
