- A low-alcohol barrel (obtained from poison salesman after starting the quest and talking to the beer keg guy)
1. Make sure you have the items needed in your inventory also room in bank then go towards the Sinclair mansion, but instead of going the whole way to it take the west path and follow the road. At the first bridge talk to the council worker, he tells you he would like a beer. Use the beer on him and he will give you a "strange object" . Keep this in your inventory and carry on over the bridges until you reach the Viking’s town.
2. Move further into the camp and talk to Brundt the Chieftain he’s in the long hall. Ask him if he has any quests you can do... he will tell you that you wont be interested in such a task, tell him that you will and then continue to talk with him (about becoming a femennik).
3. He will then tell you that you need to talk to the council members of the clan to become a part of it. There are 12 council members in the town, you need to get at least 7 of them to say it's OK for you to join their clan.
4. Time to start talking to the council members
This part is confusing, most people have a few roles to play, so make sure you don't hit the wrong one, or forget anything!
Anti-Outlanders:
These people won't set you a test to pass, so there is not much use trying to
get them to give you their vote; Agnar, Pontak, Inga, Sassilik, Fisherman.
So let's look at the people who will set you a task. There is no specific order to do them, so they're listed below in the order we did them. Though you might consider doing them in this order since the last one of them wont let you bring any items at all.
Manni the Reveller:
1. He is located in the long bar, the same as the chieftain. He wants to have a drinking contest with you... grab a keg of beer and talk to him again. You will then start the drinking contest, you will get drunk and your screen will start to go forwards and backwards, Manni will win this round.
2. To win this test, u must go back to the poison sales man, talk about femennik people, after a HUGE speech from him say you will buy a low alcohol from him. He will give you a low alcohol keg. Go back to the long hall, pick up another keg. Then go outside light the “strange object” and use it with the pipe on the east side of the building. Then go back in. use low alcohol keg with the normal all the people in there will say WHAT was that! While you do this.
Sigmund the Merchant: (most tedious part)
1. In the market to the West of the Long house is a man called Sigmund the Merchant. He wants you to get a special flower, that someone in the village has.
2. When you stand at the market you should be able to see some ships and perhaps even a sailor to the North-East. Go and talk to the sailor, he says he has the flower but that he can't give it away since there is a certain woman who is supposed to have it. He will, after a little discussion, agree to let you have the flowers; on one condition... that you get someone to write him a romantic ballad.
3. Go and talk to Olof the bard who can be found to the East of the long house. He will tell you that he wants a pair of new boots. Get him the boots and he will write you a romantic ballad for the sailor.
4. To get a new pair of boots u have to go and talk to Yrsa, she can be found in the Clothes shop to in the North West of the market. She won't help you unless you can guarantee that the taxes on the shops will be lowered, she tells you to talk to the chieftain. Go back to the long house and talk to him, he will agree to do this if you can convince Sigli the hunter to tell you where the best hunting areas are so that they can get more money for the clan, and as such lower the taxes.
5. Sigli can be found to the South of the village by the entrance. To get him to tell you about the hunting areas you will have to get him a custom bowstring. To get the custom bowstring you need to do yet another person a favor.
6. Skulgrimen, in the helmet shop near the market, wants you to get a rare inedible fish. Go and talk to the fisherman (near Saloir). He, wants you to get a map from the navigator over the best fishing places. However (of course) the navigator wants a weather forecast. Otherwise he wont give you the map.
7. Go and talk to the Peer the Seer who can be found at in the South West of the village. To get him to make you one he wants you to get him a bodyguard.
8. Go and talk to Thorvald the Warrior who is found just North East of the long hall, he agrees to help you if you can get him a seat in the long hall.
9. Go to the longhall and talk to Manni, he wants you to get him a special cocktail from Thora, but she wont serve it. To get her to give you one you need to get Askeladden to write a note where he promises to never enter the bar. Go outside the bar and talk to Askeladden and pay him 5k gp to get this note. Take the note to Thora and she will give you the cocktail.
10. Give the cocktail to Manni, he gives you the seat in the long hall. Give that to Thorvald who will give you a slip of paper saying he will be the bodyguard for the seer. The seer will in turn give you the weather forecast which you can then give to the navigator. He will give you the map, which you should give to the fisherman, continuing the trend of chaotic exchange, the fisherman will give you the special fish, give that to Skullgrimmen who will give you the bow string, give that to Sigli, he then gives you the hunting locations. Give the hunting location to the Chief who will agree to lower the taxes. Take the slip announcing the tax reduction to Yrsa, she will then give you the boots. Give the boots to Olof and in exchange he will give you a romantic ballad (get his part of the quest at same time as this. It helps). Then you will get the romantic ballad. Give this to the sailor and get the special flower. Finally give the flower to Sigmund. Congratulations, you have got his vote!
Swensen the Navigator:
A little maze here, you need to go to the correct portals to be able to finish this one. The correct way to do this is to use the letters of his name. So it's South, West, East, North, South, East, North. This took a while to figure out
Sigli the Huntsman note: this can only be done after finishing the fighter.
1. He can be found against the South gate of the village. To get his vote you need to track and defeat The Draugen. It's invisible, unkillable and invincible. To be able to kill it you will have to use the Hunters' talisman which he will give you.
2. You can use locate on it to find the Draugen. Just continuously click the talisman and stand in one place, this is after you have done the fighters challenge, (started from helmet shop), and after a little while it will find you. Kill it and the essence will absorb into the talisman. Return to Sigli and give him the talisman. He will now vote for you.
Olaf the Bard:
1. To get his vote you need to make your own lyre and play with it in the longhall. To get the lyre head South out from the village and follow the road leading to the East, and after awhile you'll see an icon on your minimap showing a musical tree. Go to it, cut a branch from the tree and use a knife with it to get a unstrung lyre. When you've done that continue further East and maybe a little South as well, there you'll find a troll called Lalli. Lalli doesn't reveal much when you talk to him so choose "Other human?"
2. Lalli will tell you about the other human who gave him a present for the fleece. Now go back to the village and talk to Askeladden (he is still just outside the long hall). He will give you a pet rock.
3. While you still are in the village, take some time and pick an onion, cabbage and potato from the field in the South part of the village. Then go back to the troll and talk to him again.
4. When you have done that, add the stone to the soup, he will ask if its ready or not, just lick continue, and then add the cabbage, onion and potato. He will taste the soup and say that he might trade the fleece for it (don’t eat the cabbage right click). Talk to him again, he will now give you the fleece, go back down to Seers Village in the house in the South West corner there's a spinning wheel. Use the fleece with the spinning wheel. Then add the string to the lyre.
5. Now head back towards the village, however when you cross the second bridge take left (West) and follow the water until you get to an altar (looks like a fishing place with a fishing net in the middle). Once there use your raw shark with it and you will get an enchanted lyre.
6. Go to the village and head to the back of the long hall, don’t talk to bouncer or he wont let you in, just go threw the door and he will let you in. Play the lyre, unfortunately you will loose your ability to play the lyre now, but at least you'll get another vote.
Thorvald the Warrior:
7. Talk to him, he will tell you to fight to death, no armour or weapons. First time you don’t need prayer, the second and 3rd you do need prayer. On the 4th time let him kill you. You will complete the challenge, even thought you lost the combat. (note if you have armour bank it all first, if you use prayer you don’t need food just bring prayer restore and maybe and couple cooked fish if he hits you.)
Peer the Seer:
1. To start off you need to get into his house. To get in you need to solve a riddle: This is different from person to person, but some of the answers include: mind, time, tree, life, wind and fire.
2. Once on the inside go upstairs and search everything you can find there...all the boxes, crates, bookshelves, cupboards and the animal heads.
3. Cook the herring on the range to get some red goo, when searching the unicorn head u will find a red little disk. When you search the bull's head you will get a similar one, but not red, use the red goo with it, then go down through the other ladder. Use the two things with the abstract mural. It's middle will then fall out and appear in your inventory.
4. Now go back upstairs. Gets 3 jugs and 2 buckets. Fill 1 bucket. And empty it into a jug, (use with) you will now have a 2/5th bucket. Do this with the other bucket as well, then use 1 of the buckets with a jug and use that jug with the other bucket to get 4/5th full bucket. Then use that wit the chest with a thing on top (looks like scales) you will get a vase.
5. Now use the vase with the tap, and then the vase lid with the vase, use the that with the frozen table which is located in the northeast corner of the room, the vase will then break and u will have a frozen key in your inventory.
6. Use the frozen key with the cooking range to get a seers' key. Now go down again and out through the door. Peer will approach you and tell you that you have his vote now.
Now that you have all the votes you'll need, go and talk to the chieftain. He will now award you. You'll get a new "Viking name" that they will call you, and the ability to use the village, i.e the market stalls, pick pocketing and the shops.
