Instructions:

To start the quest, head off to speak to Charlie the zookeeper in the Ardougne Zoo.
He will tell you that one of their associates called Nickolaus went to get another ferret to replace the one they lost, but never came back. Charlie asks you to go look for him in the mountains west of the Gnome Stronghold.

Make your way to the west side of the Gnome Stronghold, and go north until you come upon some mountains. Head up the path that leads up the Mountain. At the end of the path is a Rocky Outcrop - inspect it, but it seems that you cannot enter yet. Climb down the rocks just to the North-West of it, and head to the campsite. If you don't have 25 Agility, you wont be able to climb down the rocks. In this case, you can go back down the mountain and make your way around to the campsite.

Inspect the pile of Books, and you will find a Bird Book with information the the birds that you can Hunt. Read it and you will find a Metal Feather, which falls out of the book.

Climb back up the rocks or walk around again and use the Metal Feather on the Rock Outcrop, which opens a tunnel. Climb inside.

Go south where there is the cavern and a conversation will start with Nickolaus. It appears that he is trapped, and he has a plan to get out, but he needs you to make two disguises (one for you and one for him). He says that the Fancy Dress Store Owner in Varrock could probably make them. Before you leave, pick up 10 Giant Feathers.

Speak to the Fancy Dress Shop Owner in Varrock, and ask about Bird Costumes. He says he is all out, but could make some given the materials. Make sure you have the 10 Giant Feathers, the Yellow Dye, the Swamp Tar, and 50gp with you. Speak to him again and he will make you two costumes.

Make your way back to Eagles' Peak, and enter the tunnel. Shout to Nickolaus, and he will tell you to bring the costumes to him. Unfortunately, he is blocked by a door which requires 3 feathers to open.
- Bronze Feather: The Bronze Feather is through the tunnel West of the door. Operate the winches in the corners of the room to make the pedestal fall, so you can grab the feather.
- Silver Feather: The Silver Feather is through the tunnel North-West of the door. Inspect the pedestal to find that the feather has been stolen. Track the footprints leading from it, by inspecting rocks around the path until you discover more, and you will be led to an opening. Inspect it and a level 13 Kebbit will appear. Kill the Kebbit, and pick up the Silver Feather.
- Gold Feather: The Gold Feather is through the tunnel East of the Entrance to the caves. Take 6 of the Bird Food from the Birdseed holder.
  
  - Place some Bird Seed in the Birdseed holder marked 1 on the map. This moves the west eagle to the corner.
  - Head the the A marked on the map, and pull the lever.
  - Next, head to the B marked on the map, and pull that lever.
  - Make your way to the 2 marked on the map, and put some Bird Seed in the Birdseed holder. This moves the eagle in the corner West.
  - Place some Bird Seed in the Birdseed holder located at the 3 marked on the map. This moves the eagle there South.
  - Pull the lever located at C, in the South-Eastern corner.
  -Go back to the the lever at B, and push it up.
  - Put some Bird Seed in the Birdseed holder just North of lever B, at the 4 marked on the map.
  - Pull the lever in the North-Western Corner at the letter D marked on the map.
  - Head to the 5 marked on the map, and put some Bird Seed in the Birdseed holder there.
  - Go back to the 1 marked on the map, and put some more Bird Seed in there.
  
  Now you can enter the room to the West of the Entrance. Take the Gold Feather from the pedestal.

Now, finally head back to the door and use the feathers on it. Put on your Eagle costume, and walk past the Eagle guarding Nickolaus. Speak to him, and he will take the other costume. He tells you to meet him back at the campsite.

Make your way to the campsite, and he will show you how to catch ferrets. You end up catching one as he teaches you. Head back to Ardougne and speak to Charlie to finish the quest.
