Instructions:
  1. Ask the guildmaster in the Champions Guild about buying some Rune Platemail. He tells you to go to Oziarch
  2. Oziach is in a small hut beside the cliffs west of Edgeville and he will tell you that only true champions can wear his plate mail and will begin your quest. He will give you a key to Melzar's maze (where you can obtain one map piece) and will tell you how to find the other two map pieces.
  3. In Melzar's maze you will need to defeat monsters of increasing difficulty to get a key to the next section of maze. It is wise to bring the silverlight gained from the Demon Slayer quest if you still have it.
    • 1st Floor: Giant Rats (Lvl 13)- Kill to get Red key, usually there are extras lying around on floor. Take door in NW corner of building
    • 2nd Floor: Ghosts (Lvl 25)- Have Orange key, take 2nd door from north.
    • 3rd Floor: Skeletons (Lvl 31)- Hold Yellow key, take western most door.
    • Ladders: Follow ladders till you come to basement
    • Basement Room 1: Zombies (Lvl 32)- Hold Blue key. Take northern door, southern door is escape out of maze.
    • Basement Room 2: Melzar the Mad (Lvl 45)- Holds Magenta key, take northern door, western door is escape. Make sure you life is full after this to take on the Lesser Demon, and equip your silverlight
    • Basement Room 3: Lesser Demon (lvl 79)- Has Black key, take door on northern wall (eastern side), open chest to get Map Piece #1.

  4. The next map piece can be obtained in the Port Sarim jail by killing the goblin with ranged or magic and then using Telekinetic Grab to get the map piece (magic lvl 33 required). You can also buy the map piece from him by talking to him for 10k.
  5. For the final map piece you will need to collect some items which the oracle on the ice mountain tells you about.
    • These are: Drink of the mage - Wizard's mind bomb
    • Small crustation cage - Lobster pot
    • Worm string changed to sheet - silk
    • Bowl that has not seen fire - unfired bowl (crafting, make from wet clay in Barb Village)
  6. The "door down below" is in the Dwarven mine. Take all the items with you to open the door.
  7. Once you have collected all the map pieces you will also need to get an anti-dragon breath shield. This is vital as the dragon will hit 40's on even the highest players without one. Talk to the Duke on the second floor of Lumbridge castle to obtain one.
  8. Next you will need to buy the Lady Lumbridge (a ship) from the sailor in Port Sarim (costs 2000gp) and repair it using planks and nails. Planks can be found in various parts of the wilderness (North of Varrock level 23), nails must be smithed using steel (level 34 smithing required) You will need 3 planks and 90 nails to finish the job.
  9. Now you must bring Ned (found in Draynor Village) the map pieces and get him to take you to Crandor.
  10. It is a wise idea to bring plenty of food (swordfish) and a strength potion with you to defeat the dragon. Do not attempt to use prayer or magic, as this only makes the dragon stronger. When you arrive on Crandor the boat will need repairing again thanks to Ned's superb sailing abilities!
  11. Now you must fight your way through several more enemies to reach the dragon. These include:
    • Hobgoblins (lvl 32)
    • King scorpions (lvl 36)
    • Skeletons (lvl 31)
    • Skeletons (lvl 54),
    • Lesser demons (lvl 79)
  12. Depending on the route you take, you may fight different beasts. The recommended, and easiest, is to stick as close as you can to the shore, and travel directly north, around the tip of the island. Make your way to the center after reaching the northern tip of the island. Go down the stairs, past the skeletons, to the long corridor. There is one door on the western wall, inside is the dragon.
  13. Elvarg the dragon is lvl 83, and is daunting to say the least. Before entering, eat enough food for full life, take your strength potion, and go in. Attack the dragon, but run whenever you are around half life. Click on the far side of the room, and while your walking (and the dragon starting to chase you) eat food to replenish you hits, and if you must add to your strength potion. If this does not give you enough time, "hide" behind one of the pillars, because the dragon will not be smart enough to go around, similar to what rangers do with monks and benches.
  14. When you beat the dragon you will instantly get given your combat stat reward and will be teleported back outside the dragon room amongst the lvl 54 skeletons. Do not go back up the stairs, but instead head South down the tunnel past some Lesser Demons until you reach a "strange looking wall". Go through the wall. You can now come and go through this entrance whenever you want. Some people prefer to bring runes and teleport out the easy way. To use this door, you must come through from the Crandor side first. If you teleported out, you must return to Crandor by boat (you must get new planks and nails), and go through the door.
  15. Return to Oziarch to buy your Rune Plate mail.
